Practice with the Clippers

January 20th, 2009 by billyneptune

Hi all….it’s been a while since my last posting.  So I thought I’d catch up with you.  This year is already on the 20th day.  Can you believe that?  Time flies.

Since 2009 began,  I’ve been busy and working out hard to get back my old body.  All of last year,  with the economy being so bad…..I didn’t have a budget for the gym.  That changed at the start of this year,  and I began going again.

I’m not quite back to my old workout regime now,  but I hope I will be sometime soon.  Right now it’s simple….1 mile jogging on the treadmill,  20 minutes on the stair climbing machine,  and 10 minutes on the bike….followed by different lifting regimes ^_^  OK…..before it was at least 2 miles jogging,  20 minutes on the bike,  and 20 minutes on the stair climber….along with all the weight lifting.  Don’t worry.  I will be back soon and taking more pics ^_^

heheheheh…right now I’m on strike from cameras…but in a month I’ll be better.  I don’t want to disappoint any of you.  I want you to only see me the way I am meant to be ^_^

So….it’s good that I’ve been working out.  I went to the Los Angeles Clippers practice facility this past Sunday afternoon for a clinic.  I did this last year,  so I knew what to expect.

I arrived a bit early,  and was rewarded with the ability to take shooting practice on the court with my own intern rebounding for me ^_^  That was so awesome.  I love shooting on professional courts.  It’s just so awesome…I can’t explain how nice it is.  Here is a picture of the facility where I was at:

That’s not the best pic….but it’s the only one I really found online.  Anyway,  once the clinic began than it was on.

I don’t know how many of you out there have trained like a professional athlete…..but it’s so hard.  I love it though.  We started with stretching.  That sounds easy right?  Well…..it’s actually the hardest part.  Going back and forth on a full size NBA Court doing running,  stretching,  and other drills.  Wow!  If I did that every day then I’d be in perfect shape ^_^  I wish I can do that every day.

Ok…..so after stretching then it was to basketball drills.  These are standard drills.  We did passing drills up and down the court.  Scoring drills,  layup drills.  It was awesome.  After an hour of that then our clinic was over.  We took a group photo with a coach and a few of the players.  Then we left with our souvenier aches and pains ^_^  It’s ok….I love all of them.

My weekend was awesome,  it’s too bad my Clips didn’t win yesterday afternoon.  It’s hard when so many people are hurt.  At least they’re trying their best,  and I will ALWAYS be there to support them.  I’m a very loyal person.

I love you all…..thank you for reading and being here always.  You’re so sweet. Muahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Take care.

Love always,

Kuya Tim

Meeting Dwight Howard

December 9th, 2008 by billyneptune

Wow….yesterday was just awesome.  I got to meet one of my favorite NBA Players…Dwight Howard!  This guy is a monster with the kindest heart.  If you don’t know who he is then check out these vids from the Slam Dunk 2008 Champion:

So…what do you think?  He’s awesome.  Well…let me explain:

I was selected to be the Clippers honorary captain for yesterdays game.  I did the same thing last season and I met with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker….you can see those pics in my album.

Before the game I got there and I was sitting on the Clippers bench.  Watching them working out before the game…and then about 5 minutes before tip off I went to the center circle to meet with the captains of both teams and the referees.  Since I was an honorary captain,  it was Marcus Camby and Me for the Clippers,  and Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard for the Magic.

It was so awesome to meet Dwight.  I said “Hey Dwight.. Happy Birthday”. He was like “Thanks”.  Then I told him to “Take it easy on my Clippers tonight”.  He laughed and said “We’ll see homie”.  hahahahaha

Then we half hugged with a handshake and some dap and then that was that.  It was still so awesome.  You stand next to a 7 foot tall specimen like that….it’s really awesome.  He is not like most of the NBA Players I’ve met in my life,  and I’ve met a LOT!  He’s actually the coolest and nicest player ever.

I was sitting next to the Magic bench by the tunnel during the game.  I was hoping that I can get his jersey from his back after the game.  He was really cool and gave it to a kid who he was playing around with earlier.

This is the kind of guy Dwight is….this kid yelled at him before the game “Dwight…you’re a monster”.  This kid was wearing a Dwight Howard jersey and idolized him.  He yelled back at the kid “NO KID….YOU’RE A MONSTER”.  This went on a few times…and he ended up giving that kid his jersey.  He’s so awesome.

Yesterday was a great night….even though we lost!  Happy Birthday Dwight…stay awesome always!
